Life Coaching Sydney: Why you don’t need a Life Coach

Posted by admin on March 26th, 2010

At Life Coaching Sydney, we get this question from time to time, ‘Why do I need a life coach?’. The truth is you don’t need a life coach if you fit into one of these catagories:

1) You are happy with everything in your life

2) You have no fears, worries or doubts that are holding you back from creating what you want in life

3) All areas of your life is in perfect condition and everything is running smoothly

4) You have no goals or results you want to accelerate your progress towards

5) You know what your purpose in life is and you’re actually living it

Of course there could be more reasons, but this will suffice. If above is true, you don’t need a life coach. A life coach is for someone who wants to create more, achieve more and go beyond any personal limitations that is holding that individual back from their full potential.

The promise of life coaching is that once you’re on the path with a person who is as excited as you to achieve your goals, creating your dreams and is there for your to move beyond any fears, doubts and worries…the results you want will come to fruition in much faster pace than you can probably imagine right now.

Here’s few tips to find a life coach, the right one for you:

1) Get a free complimentary session to get an idea and sense for the style of coaching and you feel that you can trust this person.

2) Ask the coach for their experience in working with people and what motivated them to become a life coach. There are many life coaches in Australia and to find the one that suits you comes down to trust and that this person can deliver what they promise.

This is also true for you, to get the most out of life coaching you must be willing to confront your ’inner demons’ and take full responsability. Now most people are not willing to do this they rather do anything else than confront their fears etc. However with the right personal life coach you’ll be taking journey towards more freedom and a life you love to live.

The third thing you want to find out is…

Life Coaching Sydney: The Three Steps To Real Change

Posted by admin on April 19th, 2010

Hi again,

Patrick here and today I want to share with you the three steps you must take if you really want to free yourself from any barriers, obstacles or limitations that currently are holding you back from creating the results you want in any area of your life…

This is the foundation we at Life Coaching Sydney use for all our change work. As you know there are many life coaches out there and there are numerous ways to create a change, however having done life coaching for more than 15 years this is the real deal when it comes to change.

The three steps to real change:

1) You must find the foundational building blocks of what’s holding your ‘problem’ in place, whether this is a negative belief, disempowering mind chatter or crippling emotions such as fear. Not many life coaches are aware of these foundational pieces are many times only working with you from what I call a surface perspective. That is they don’t deal with real cause of your ‘problem’ or challenge, instead they work on the symptoms such as changing a belief or setting goals and hold you accountable to them etc. Which is good but it doesn’t really free you long term.

What needs to happen in a life coaching session is for you and the coach together go on a journey of discovering the root causes of what’s holding you back etc. This root cause is usually painful forgotten memories, which today is controlling very much of your behaviour and though processes. However most of us have come so used to them we think it’s us, we have no clue it’s something from the past still controlling us today.

This might not be easy to grasp and accept, however it’s still is true. These memories effect you today as a calculator with one button not working would when we do calculations. Imagine for a moment that you have a calculator that every time you press 5 it actually show 2, now imagine you are going to make some important calculations using this particular calculator. What kind of results would you get? Wrong ones, as they are based already on a false assumption that when you press 5 you get 5, however that’s not the case.

This is exactly what’s happening with most people today, they believe they’re making right decisions based on rational thinking, and that is a tragedy. This is why it’s so important to find those basic foundational building blocks.

(If you want to discover you foundational blocks, please contact us at Life Coaching Sydney for a special introductory session. Fill in form to the right or use email below)

The second step is…

Life Coaching Sydney: Is there something more powerful than NLP Coaching?

Posted by admin on April 19th, 2010

Hi again,

Patrick here from Life Coaching Sydney…today we are going to explore the concept of NLP and does NLP coaching really work?

There’s a lot of talk today amongst life coaches and in the life coaching industry about NLP. And we know there’s a lot of coaches around the world using NLP in their coaching as a way of transforming people. Some people claim to have benefited from this type of life coaching and some are trying to find a life coach that provides NLP. Howeverr with all of this in mind, does NLP coaching really give you the long term benefits it promises?

As someone who has studied the mind with passion for 25 years and helped thousands of individuals tranforming their lives, I know what the real components are for a successful life coaching program. Before I share them with you, lets have a look at how NLP works and what it works with.

NLP is short for Neuro Linguistic Programming. It was developed in the 70’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. It primarily works with your subjective experience and how your organise your internal world. The major premise it’s build upon is the concept of wanting to change for fix something by using the internal pictures and sounds you have. At the root it’s how your internal pictures and sounds are represented that is causing you the problems you have. However wanting to change those using NLP is usually very short term change, you might feel really good for the moment but this wont last long. Usually the person going through a session of NLP with a life coach will find themselves 2-3 months down the road having the same problem occur again, whether that’s a habit you wanted to change or an disempowering emotional pattern resurfacing again.

Why is that and what would be a better way to create a lasting and stable change for yourself?

Life Coaching Sydney: Part 2 of The Silent Killer of Dreams and Goals

Posted by admin on April 13th, 2010

Hi again,

Patrick here again from Life Coaching Sydney…here’s part 2 of The Silent Killer of Dreams and Goals (if you haven’t read the first part please see post below).

Why you should feel excited about resistance..

Is there anything good about resistance? Yes, there is.

Resistance is your gold mine. From my experience in life coaching one-on-one and conducting training’s to become a life coach, I‘ve noticed that…where people have their biggest resistance and fear, is where their biggest breakthroughs and life transformation will happen.

Your resistance is your biggest breakthrough. If you truly want to reach your goals, take your life to the next level and start living your ultimate life then you would want to see resistance as your best friend saying something like — “Hey, it‘s time to grow, it‘s time for your biggest breakthrough, just take action, move forward despite me. I‘m here to make you grow.“

Make a commitment to yourself from now on to be excited and curious about your resistance. It‘s just showing you where the key is to your ultimate life; your resistance is your key to your success, if you continue moving forward with excitement about your resistance.

How do you move forward when you have resistance? Here’s some life coaching tips:

Life Coaching Sydney: The Silent Killer of Your Dreams and Goals

Posted by admin on April 13th, 2010

Hi there,

Patrick here again from Life Coaching Sydney…I have a new article for you today and it deals with the most unconscious barrier that almost everyone faces but few recognize…

Someone once asked me —What do you think is the biggest killer of people‘s dreams and goals?“ My first thought was, as I pondered on the answer, that people are too caught up in their day to day life (paying bills, the mortgage etc), instead of focusing on designing their ultimate life. Most people are caught up in surviving vs. living their ultimate life.

(…and by the way that’s where a life coach can assist with some great life coaching strategies…)

As I thought that, I asked myself a new question: —What ultimately stops people from realizing their goals?“ And then it hit me. People don‘t achieve them because of one thing, and it‘s a very sneaky one. Most people don‘t even realize that it‘s happening. It‘s called resistance.

What is resistance?

Have you ever experienced a time when, you set a goal or a new year‘s resolution, and when you set it you were really excited and couldn‘t wait to have it realized? And the first few days or weeks you actually followed through, you did go to the gym three times a week, you started to eat healthier or you stopped smoking. And then out of no where, you just woke up one day and didn‘t feel like going to the gym or doing that morning walk.

Well, there you go. You experienced resistance.

But then you rationalized it, which what resistance wants you to do, so that you don‘t change. Rationalization is our way of trying to feel better about our resistance. Typical one‘s are —I don‘t have the time“ —I‘ll do it later“ —I don‘t have the money“ —It‘s not that important“ etc. Another example of resistance is when you just don‘t feel like picking up the phone and making that call you know is important.

(Now for those of you who really want to go beyond this, I recommend you come for a free life coaching session with me Patrick – Life Coaching Sydney. You’ll walk away from this session with a new awareness, clarity and strength that will let you know exactly what steps you need to take to create the results you want. You can book by filling in form to the right.)

Resistance is when you start a new project and feel totally excited about it and then somewhere…
